Vocational Academy - Hair and Beauty

The Vocational Academy operates in the T Chances building on the High Road, almost opposite Tottenham Police Station.

The Academic Curriculum for 2017/18 offers 5 GCSEs – Science, Maths, English, RS, Art, and BTEC Sport. Functional Skills Maths and English, and Level 1 and Level 2 IT Qualifications and Childcare are on offer.

Footsteps has a specialist EAL team for students for whom English is a second language.

Additionally, First Aid courses are options for Footsteps students, as appropriate. However, music, fashion, dance, and food technology are also potential options for students.

Activities promoting personal development such as theatre trips, university visits, learning to play chess and there is the potential to learn to play an instrument/music production. There are a wide variety of workshops aimed at enlightening and empowering our young people, and guest speakers are invited to educate, inspire and motivate our students.

Students work in an environment where there is normally one member of staff for every 3 students. Classes generally have a maximum of six students with one teacher and one support staff.

This academy is a great place to study, learn and develop your vocational skills.

Sports Academy

The Sports Academy operates in the New River Sports Centre in White Hart Lane.

The Sports Academic Curriculum for 2017/18 offers 5 GCSEs – Science, Maths, English, RS, Art and BTEC Sport. Sports Academy also delivers Maths and English Functional Skills Courses. BTEC Performing Arts and Level 1 and Level 2 IT Qualifications are also on offer. Additionally, Sports Leaders Awards and FA Level 1 Coaching Courses, and First Aid courses are options for Footsteps students, as appropriate.

The sports curriculum consists of football, non contact boxing, weight training, wrestling, martial arts, tennis, table tennis, martial arts, rugby, and athletics. The Footsteps Football Academy course will be running at Sports Academy in 2017/18, focusing on football and offering the same academic curriculum.
